Job summary

Architects, implements, secures, and sustains hybrid cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure for Department of Defense missions. The role leads cloud and systems engineering, endpoint security and management, infrastructure automation, and modernization, while supporting Zero Trust architecture, RMF and NIST compliance, system accreditation, and Authority to Operate activities.

• At least five years of experience architecting and implementing enterprise cloud solutions.
• Extensive experience designing and deploying Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Experience architecting hybrid environments integrating Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Purview, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience with endpoint security, device compliance, configuration management, application deployment, data governance, and information protection.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Experience automating cloud administration with PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, enterprise security architecture, Zero Trust, NIST standards, and RMF.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in mission-focused engineering organizations.
• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification.
• Education and experience: master's degree with 15–20 years of relevant experience, doctorate with 13–16 years, or bachelor's degree with additional directly related experience sufficient to meet contract labor-category requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and implement secure hybrid cloud solutions using Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Build greenfield cloud environments that meet Department of Defense mission requirements.
• Develop resilient, scalable cloud architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles and DoD cybersecurity guidance.
• Implement cloud networking, monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and security services.
• Administer endpoint security, device compliance, application deployment, configuration, and policy enforcement.
• Support cloud-connected endpoints, remote users, virtual devices, and non-persistent endpoint environments.
• Implement data governance, information protection, and Data Loss Prevention initiatives.
• Automate cloud infrastructure and administration using IaC and scripting tools.
• Lead technical planning, systems design, architecture development, and integration.
• Conduct requirements and functional analysis, interface definition, timeline analysis, and engineering trade studies.
• Support system verification, validation, testing, accreditation, fielding, and sustainment.
• Develop architecture documentation, engineering artifacts, and implementation roadmaps.
• Mentor cloud engineers and provide technical leadership to project teams.
• Support RMF and NIST compliance, DoD cybersecurity policies, and Authority to Operate activities.
