Job summary

The role focuses on designing, implementing, and governing enterprise cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring compliance with Whole-of-Government standards. Key responsibilities include developing cloud architecture, supporting Azure-based solutions, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and engaging with stakeholders to influence technology decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated experience delivering enterprise cloud solutions using Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management.
• Proven experience with Azure DevOps, Git Repositories, CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM Templates, Terraform or equivalent), Automated testing and deployment practices.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, RBAC, Cloud security controls, Azure networking services.
• Experience integrating cloud platforms with Dynamics 365 CRM, Enterprise APIs, Business systems, Third-party platforms, Cloud-native services.
• Demonstrated ability to develop enterprise architectures, produce solution architecture documentation, provide technical governance and assurance, perform impact analysis and technical assessments, deliver solutions aligned with Whole-of-Government standards.
• Experience working within Agile multidisciplinary teams, Government ICT programs, Complex stakeholder environments, Rapidly changing project priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise-level cloud architecture for Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms.
• Produce high-level and detailed solution architectures for cloud-based services and applications.
• Provide technical direction, architecture guidance, and implementation standards for cloud engineering teams.
• Conduct impact assessments and analysis for business and technical requirements.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture roadmaps and Whole-of-Government standards.
• Promote architecture principles including reuse, configuration over customisation, and secure-by-design approaches.
• Design, build, deploy, and support Azure-based solutions and services.
• Develop scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available cloud platforms.
• Support enterprise application and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
• Implement cloud-native and integration-first architectural patterns.
• Design and implement secure cloud environments.
• Configure and manage Virtual Networks (VNets), Private Endpoints, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Microsoft Entra ID, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cloud security controls and governance frameworks.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Support automated deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational processes.
• Provide cloud architecture leadership and technical mentoring.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
