Job summary
As a Network Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and continuous optimization of our network infrastructure. You will drive the transformation towards a vendor-agnostic infrastructure, minimize hardware dependencies, and establish declarative workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Your role involves ensuring configuration changes are implemented via CI/CD pipelines, developing network observability, and automating network resource provisioning through REST-APIs.

Qualifications
- Completed degree in IT/Computer Science, vocational training as an IT specialist, or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
- Profound expertise in administering heterogeneous IT environments
- Proficient in network protocols (OSPF, BGP) and modern Fabric technologies (EVPN/VXLAN)
- Experienced in automation with Ansible
- Good knowledge of a scripting language (ideally Python)
- Standard use of Git (Version Control) and data structures (YAML/JSON)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to validate network configurations through automated tests
- Experience in firewall operation and knowledge of cloud network concepts (SDN/OpenStack) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Operate and continuously optimize network infrastructure (Core, LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN)
- Drive transformation to a vendor-agnostic infrastructure
- Minimize hardware dependencies by building an IaC environment
- Establish declarative workflows using NetBox as SSoT and Ansible for network configuration as code
- Ensure configuration changes are implemented via CI/CD pipelines and secured by automated pre-change tests
- Develop network observability through Streaming Telemetry for proactive error detection and closed-loop automations
- Automate network resource provisioning (self-service networking) via REST-APIs to eliminate manual errors
- Master troubleshooting in complex, code-based environments
- Manage external service providers
- Support strategic IT network projects
