Job summary
The Network Automation Engineer role is essential for providing engineering support to shipboard networks, focusing on troubleshooting, maintenance, and configuration updates. Key responsibilities include implementing Cisco ISE/NAC solutions, enhancing automation with Ansible and Powershell, and ensuring cybersecurity compliance through STIGs on network appliances.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years experience in network or systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE or NAC technologies.
- Strong understanding of network security fundamentals.
- Experience developing automation artifacts like Ansible playbooks.
- Ability to troubleshoot across multiple network deployments.
- Familiarity with Agile processes and change management.
- Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering sustainment support for fielded shipboard networks.
- Lead upgrades to network baselines for compatibility and reliability.
- Implement and sustain Cisco ISE/NAC solutions.
- Evaluate and implement STIGs to improve cybersecurity posture.
- Develop automation tooling for network sustainment.
- Troubleshoot issues across various Cisco platforms.
- Support engineering analysis of baseline-specific issues.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) within Agile practices.
- Participate in change management processes.
- Contribute to configuration documentation and technical guides.
