Job summary
The Network DevOps Engineer maintains, secures, and develops data center networks across multiple locations that support education and research services. The role includes network monitoring, complex incident resolution, performance and security analysis, and building infrastructure for network operations. The engineer also develops and deploys network hardware, software, and automation using Infrastructure as Code in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Qualifications
- At least five years of relevant experience
- Experience with network equipment, preferably in multi-vendor environments
- Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, EVPN, VXLAN, and MLAG
- Linux experience and affinity
- Experience with Bash, Python, Ansible, containers, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Agile, Scrum, ITSM, or ITIL experience preferred
- Dutch Certificate of Conduct (VOG) required before employment
Responsibilities
- Maintain, manage, secure, and improve data center networks
- Provide second- and third-line network support and resolve complex incidents
- Build infrastructure for network and service management and monitoring
- Analyze network performance and security data, identify risks, and take corrective action
- Develop, test, and deploy network hardware, software, and tools
- Translate privacy, security, sustainability, and continuity requirements into network measures and monitor their implementation
- Support network rollouts and replacements
