Network Site Reliability Engineer(SRE)

Job summary

Design, operate, automate, and improve reliable enterprise network services supporting refinery and chemical manufacturing operations. The role applies site reliability engineering practices to routing, SD-WAN, switching, wireless, and firewall infrastructure, using BGP, Python, Ansible, APIs, and observability to strengthen service availability, resilience, and recovery.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Expert-level understanding of routing protocols, particularly BGP.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise switching and wireless technologies.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls.
• Experience with Python scripting, Ansible, or comparable automation technologies.
• Understanding of APIs and system integration.
• Experience with network monitoring, telemetry, observability, and incident troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in business-critical environments with disciplined change and incident management.
• Ability to participate in the required on-call rotation.
• Ability to work onsite in Spring, Texas, at least four days per week.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate, troubleshoot, and improve network services for refinery and chemical manufacturing operations.
• Provide routing expertise, particularly for BGP.
• Support and optimize SD-WAN environments, preferably Versa.
• Manage Cisco Catalyst switching and Cisco Wireless infrastructure.
• Operate and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, preferably Fortinet.
• Automate operational tasks, configuration changes, testing, validation, and remediation using Python, Ansible, or related tools.
• Establish network observability through monitoring, telemetry, logging, alerting, and performance analysis.
• Integrate network platforms with enterprise systems through APIs.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, automation standards, and support runbooks.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and site-support teams.
