Job summary
Build and maintain scalable, highly available production infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform while guiding engineering teams in adopting platform features. The role manages Kubernetes workloads and Confluent Kafka, develops CI/CD pipelines with GCP and GitHub Actions, and implements monitoring, logging, alerting, and security practices. It also includes troubleshooting performance and deployment issues, documenting infrastructure, and improving system reliability and scalability.

Qualifications
- More than 3 years of hands-on DevOps experience focused on cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of streaming data and distributed systems using asynchronous brokers such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
- Knowledge of GCP virtual machines, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Experience managing Kubernetes deployments, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GCP and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of Kafka components, including Zookeeper and brokers, and optimization of producers and consumers.
- Proficiency in YAML and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell.
- Understanding of cloud security practices and compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available GCP infrastructure, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, networking, and Confluent Kafka.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with software development teams.
- Implement infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Optimize Kafka to support event-driven architecture and improve system performance.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks across systems.
- Secure cloud infrastructure and applications using security best practices.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application issues with developers.
- Maintain infrastructure, deployment, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Evaluate cloud, Kubernetes, and DevOps advancements and recommend infrastructure improvements.
