Job summary
The senior Platform Automation Engineer owns and evolves production infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), balancing system reliability, security, performance, and cost with faster developer workflows. The role builds per-pull-request ephemeral environments, operates Playwright, Jest, and Cucumber test frameworks in CI, reduces test flakiness, and streamlines CI/CD pipelines. The position also enables engineering teams with APIs, data-preparation tools, and integrations for their test suites.

Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience primarily in Platform, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Track record of building developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines and managing production cloud infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency with GCP and infrastructure as code.
- Terraform experience is an advantage.
- Experience operating and scaling end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright and Jest in CI.
- Familiarity with Cucumber for behavior-driven development and Storybook is an advantage.
- Comfort working with GraphQL APIs and MongoDB.
- At least 2 years of experience in a senior role.
- Able to work independently and balance infrastructure reliability with internal developer tools.
- Open-minded, kind, curious, autonomous, and proactive.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the GCP production environment and roadmap.
- Address technical debt and optimize cloud resource allocation.
- Maintain secure, performant, cost-effective, scalable production systems.
- Architect and manage ephemeral application environments for each pull request.
- Operate Playwright, Jest, and Cucumber test frameworks in CI.
- Integrate tests with ephemeral environments, optimize parallelization, and reduce flakiness.
- Improve build, test, and deployment pipelines to reduce developer wait times.
- Provide APIs, data-preparation tools, and CI/CD integrations for engineering and QA teams.
