Job summary
The Senior Platform Automation Engineer owns and evolves production cloud infrastructure while enabling developers to ship reliable code faster. The role focuses on GCP operations, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and ephemeral environments for pull requests, alongside dependable execution of Playwright, Jest, and Cucumber end-to-end tests. It also provides developer tooling and integrations while balancing production reliability, security, performance, cost, and scalability.

Qualifications
- Be resident in the Netherlands; working remotely from abroad or relocating is not possible.
- At least 8 years of experience primarily in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
- Track record building developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines and managing production cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of GCP and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Terraform is preferred.
- Experience operating and scaling end-to-end test frameworks such as Playwright and Jest in CI pipelines.
- Familiarity with Cucumber and Storybook is preferred.
- Comfort working with GraphQL APIs and MongoDB databases.
- At least 2 years of experience in a senior role.
- Ability to work autonomously and balance production infrastructure reliability with internal developer tooling.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the GCP production environment and roadmap.
- Address technical debt and optimize cloud resource use.
- Maintain secure, performant, cost-efficient, and scalable production systems.
- Design and manage ephemeral application environments for pull requests.
- Operate Playwright, Jest, and Cucumber test frameworks within CI.
- Connect tests to ephemeral environments, improve parallelization, and reduce flaky results.
- Optimize build, test, and deployment pipelines and establish reliable release mechanisms.
- Provide APIs, data preparation tools, and CI/CD integrations for developers and QA engineers.
