Job summary

The Platform Engineer role is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining infrastructure and tools to facilitate efficient software development and deployment. Key responsibilities include ensuring platform security, troubleshooting issues, and automating processes using technologies such as Ansible, Prometheus, and Grafana, while collaborating with engineering teams to enhance deployment workflows.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years' experience as a Platform Engineer is required.
• Five (5) years' experience supporting and installing on Linux, Unix, Windows, or Cisco OS operation systems.
• One (1) year experience configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and testing a messaging service.
• One (1) year experience building/installing packages such as .iso and RedHat Package Managers.
• Three (3) years' experience each supporting three (3) of the following tools/topics: Puppet, Ansible, clustering solutions, writing scripts, building, and maintaining storage arrays.
• One (1) year experience creating and maintaining virtual machines.
• Ability to run Security Scans on systems.
• Ability to provide documentation for Security accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure platform security, compliance, and adherence to best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and platform-related issues
• Design, build, and maintain internal platforms that support application development and deployment
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability using observability tools
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve developer experience and deployment workflows
