Job summary

The Platform Engineer (QlikView / PowerBi) is accountable for the strategic implementation, ongoing maintenance, and continuous optimisation of core platforms. This role demands a high level of technical ownership and leadership in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deeply understand and effectively translate user and business requirements into scalable platform solutions. The position involves proactively making informed recommendations based on a comprehensive understanding of system functionality and architecture. It includes identifying and championing opportunities for the adoption of leveraged technologies that streamline processes, enhance system performance, and elevate the end-user experience. This role is critical to the reliable and secure operation of the platform and encompasses responsibility for overseeing licence and entitlement management, leading environment setup and lifecycle maintenance, and administering and optimising the platform gateway and related infrastructure components. The role operates within a highly regulated and technically complex environment, where digital platforms must consistently meet stringent compliance, security, and operational standards. This role is critical to the strategic delivery, governance, and optimisation of platforms such as Power Platform and Power BI, ensuring they are architected, configured, and maintained in alignment with both industry regulations and internal governance frameworks. A key responsibility is to ensure that all platform activities—from environment provisioning to licence management—are executed with full regulatory compliance while enabling innovation, scalability, and operational efficiency. The Senior Platform Engineer plays a leading role in safeguarding secure data flows, enforcing access controls, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners to uphold platform performance, resilience, and reliability. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of compliance frameworks, a meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to balance technical agility with operational stability. The position also demands strategic foresight to anticipate risks, identify opportunities for improvement, and influence the evolution of platform capabilities in a dynamic and regulated digital landscape.
