Job summary

The Platform Engineer manages and develops the cloud infrastructure and developer platform used by software teams supporting an international e-commerce operation across seven countries. The role spans GCP, Cloudflare, Terraform, and tools such as GitHub Enterprise, Grafana, and Sentry, with a focus on improving cloud security, integrating DevSecOps checks into Terraform CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing cloud costs.

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
• At least four years of relevant experience.
• Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure infrastructure, including compute, networking, and load balancing, and with Terraform.
• Experience with GitHub CI/CD and monorepos.
• Knowledge of Cloudflare DNS, WAF, and Workers.
• Experience managing developer tools such as GitHub Enterprise with Entra single sign-on and Sentry.
• Cloud security expertise, including IAM, least privilege, vulnerability management, threat detection, and CI/CD security gates.
• Observability expertise, including Grafana Cloud, OTEL Collector, Prometheus, alerting, and log retention.

Responsibilities

• Own developer tooling, including GitHub Enterprise, Grafana, Sentry, and single sign-on through Entra.
• Manage and develop the GCP and Cloudflare environments with an infrastructure partner.
• Address security backlog items, including IAM improvements, recommendations, and periodic penetration tests.
• Integrate validation and security scanning into Terraform CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor and optimize GCP costs, including Committed Use Discounts.
• Document platform decisions in Confluence and architecture decision records.
