Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Platform Engineer designs and operates cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms that support trading, working with Trading, Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to improve efficiency, governance, security, and reliability. The role manages services across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud; operates Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, and distributed databases; automates infrastructure and delivery pipelines with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab; and monitors production systems.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles.
• Experience deploying, operating, and scaling production Kubernetes, including on-premises clusters and Amazon EKS.
• Strong expertise designing and managing AWS cloud infrastructure; GCP experience is a plus.
• Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code skills, including reusable modules, state management, and platform automation.
• Experience building and operating highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-native platforms.
• Strong knowledge of observability, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills in distributed production environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with cloud-native data services such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and business teams.
• Ability to respond accurately to changing market conditions and solve math and coding problems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Manage cloud services across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud according to best practices.
• Support public cloud growth and improve the hybrid-cloud operating model.
• Evaluate solution architectures and recommend improvements.
• Provision, configure, upgrade, and monitor Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, and distributed databases.
• Automate infrastructure management and development pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab.
• Explore cloud-native and container technologies.
• Monitor systems, clusters, and cloud deployments to identify errors and assess performance.
• Maintain performant and reliable production systems.
