Job summary
Provides senior-level platform engineering, systems architecture, and Tier 3 support for the DFAS Common Computing Environment (CCE) JWICS classified enclave. The role modernizes and deploys secure infrastructure, engineers and documents IT solutions, supports change control and design reviews, monitors deployments, and contributes to continuity and disaster recovery planning. The environment includes Windows Server, Azure, VMware or Nutanix, SQL, SCOM, MECM, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of enterprise systems architecture experience
- Expert-level Windows Server administration
- Expert-level security architecture
- Experience with JWICS classified network environments
- Proficiency with SQL, SCOM, MECM, VMware or Nutanix virtualization, and Directory Services
- Experience with PaaS, SaaS, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux enterprise technologies
- Experience with Azure cloud architectures
- Ability to engineer Zero Trust Network Architecture solutions
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- United States citizenship
- Ability to pass a background check
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level platform engineering support for the DFAS CCE JWICS classified enclave
- Process priority Tier 3 DFASNow support tickets
- Support the CCE Change Control Board with timely inputs
- Conduct Critical Design Reviews and Technical Review Boards
- Engineer, implement, and document IT solutions for CCE infrastructure
- Develop design documentation for critical design reviews
- Monitor CCE deployments
- Maintain engineering network configuration documentation
- Support continuity of operations and disaster recovery plans and exercises
- Provide subject matter expertise for production issues outside core hours
