Platform Engineer - Backup & Recovery

Job summary

The Platform Engineer - Backup & Recovery is responsible for managing the lifecycle of data recovery platforms, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation in data protection. Key responsibilities include owning complex data recovery platforms primarily leveraging Commvault, ensuring platform availability, and supporting diverse storage back-ends while providing technical support and contributing to RFI/RFP processes.

Qualifications

• Passion for data protection, security, and resilience.
• Experience as an engineer in data management/protection environments.
• Hands-on expertise in Commvault and/or Rubrik.
• Comfortable in secure, complex environments.
• Proficient in Linux and/or Windows ecosystems.
• Experienced with private and public cloud platforms.
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, Chef.
• Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of multi-tenant architectures and security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage complex data recovery platforms leveraging Commvault.
• Ensure platform availability and maximum customer satisfaction.
• Support and evolve diverse storage back-ends including public cloud and on-prem S3-compatible solutions.
• Collaborate with technology vendors to enhance their products.
• Assist customers in protecting workloads on various platforms.
• Deliver customer-centric features and capabilities end-to-end.
• Automate processes to optimize platform operations.
• Provide technical support and contribute to RFI/RFP processes.
