Platform Engineer

Job summary

Designs, deploys, and maintains secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for DevSecOps development services and mission applications hosted on Kubernetes. The role covers platform service integration, Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and system hardening, using technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Qualifications

• 0–4+ years of experience with commercial cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience designing and deploying self-managed Kubernetes on commercial cloud platforms
• Experience integrating cloud platform services within Kubernetes clusters
• Experience designing Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform
• Experience with DevSecOps tools and processes, including GitLab CI, Artifactory, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Helm, or Kustomize
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• DoD 8570 baseline certification
• U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance or higher
• Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Platform One Big Bang or DoD-authorized cloud platforms
• Experience with AWS services including RDS, EMR, ECR, EKS, or S3
• Experience with Rancher RKE2, DISA security products, or STIG hardening

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Kubernetes platform services on cloud-native architecture
• Integrate Kubernetes with enterprise services to meet security requirements
• Implement secure automation, monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
• Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team
• Develop and refine deployment best practices
• Apply system-hardening and configuration-management practices
