Platform Engineer (Database SME)

Job summary

Design, build, and maintain platform infrastructure while ensuring high scalability and reliability. Take ownership of the SQL Server ecosystem, driving database resilience and collaborating with teams to automate infrastructure deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering or database administration
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture
• Expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages
• Understanding of core networking concepts

Responsibilities

• Own design, strategy, patching, and maintenance of SQL Server environments
• Lead SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery strategies
• Maintain high platform availability and performance
• Collaborate with platform teams to automate deployments using CI/CD tools
• Provide query optimization, index management, and technical leadership
• Develop and maintain database automation scripts
• Manage change management processes and user access controls
• Contribute to technology evaluations and architectural decisions
• Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure issues
