Job summary

The Platform Engineer at Empyrean Solutions is responsible for supporting customers and managing the Azure cloud infrastructure, including troubleshooting and improving IT processes.

Qualifications

• Open to exceptional candidates with no experience
• Experience in Microsoft Stack and Azure Cloud is a plus
• Familiarity with web server tools (IIS, Azure App Service)
• Knowledge of configuration management tools
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools like Tenable Nessus
• Familiarity with security tools and patch management
• Experience in Windows Server Management
• Knowledge of IT ticket management tools
• Familiarity with version control tools
• Experience with scripting tools (Bash/Shell, PowerShell, Python, Yaml)
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code
• Understanding of systems engineering tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support production customers and internal users
• Triage customer tickets
• Troubleshoot production and customer support issues
• Analyze and improve current technology
• Implement automation monitoring tools and disaster recovery support
• Perform cloud and IT activities like provisioning and managing users
• Define and set up processes for operations
• Monitor processes during the lifecycle
• Encourage automated processes
• Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures
• Conduct incident management and root cause analysis
• Provision and manage client-specific resources
• Manage periodic reporting
• Execute patch management processes
• Gather evidence for SOC Type 2 controls
• Review policies for SOC Type 2 audit
• Implement and maintain security best practices
• Assist sales team with IT questionnaires
• Manage shared responsibilities for Azure Cloud
• Implement data safeguards
