Job summary
Lightning AI is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to partner with customers in architecting, building, and deploying production AI systems. The role involves solving complex technical challenges and translating customer requirements into production-ready software while collaborating with customer engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Strong software engineering experience building production full-stack applications
- Experience working directly with customers in technical environments
- Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and model development lifecycle
- Experience deploying and operating production AI/ML systems
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure and tooling such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Ability to execute effectively in fast-moving environments
Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to design, implement, and deploy AI systems and workflows
- Translate customer objectives into technical specifications and scalable implementations
- Own customer technical engagements from discovery to deployment and monitoring
- Develop and maintain production-grade software systems using modern programming languages
- Build reliable, observable systems with attention to performance and cost efficiency
- Debug and optimize AI systems across infrastructure and distributed workloads
- Work closely with customer engineering teams throughout AI deployment lifecycle
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve platform capabilities
- Navigate ambiguity with sound technical judgment and thoughtful tradeoffs
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability in execution
