Heron is hiring Platform Engineers to build systems for document automation, processing financial documents for lenders, funders, and fintechs. This role focuses on ensuring reliability at scale, enhancing developer experience, and maintaining security and compliance for a platform handling millions of sensitive financial documents.

Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience as a backend engineer
- Experience at a startup or growth-stage company
- Strong CS foundation (degree or equivalent depth)
- Track record of writing clean, well-tested Python in production
- Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (GCP), databases, CI/CD
- Cares about reliability and developer experience
- Proactive in identifying and solving problems
Responsibilities
- Work on the Platform backlog
- Develop meaningful features on Product Platform (workflow orchestration, execution, entity management, tooling)
- Develop meaningful features on Platform Infra (scalability, resilience, CI/CD, security)
- Debug customer issues end-to-end
- Contribute to architectural decisions for backend evolution
