Job summary
The Platform Engineer role is centered on developing and supporting secure infrastructure for cloud and big data applications. Responsibilities include automating environment setups, integrating open-source technologies, and managing Kubernetes environments, utilizing skills in Python or Go programming and Linux administration.
Qualifications
- Related bachelor’s degree plus five years of platform engineering or software development experience
- Related master’s plus three years
- High school diploma/equivalent plus nine years
- Strong Linux, networking, and security knowledge
- OS deployment/configuration experience using Kickstart, Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools
- Kubernetes deployment and administration
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and support secure infrastructure for cloud and big data applications
- Help turn architectural designs and prototypes into reliable operational capabilities
- Integrate open-source technologies with custom software
- Automate environment setup
- Improve existing platforms
- Identify technical issues, evaluate solutions, and carry implementation through to completion
