Platform Engineer II

Job summary

As a Platform Engineer II at Medtronic, you will develop and operate software ecosystems for implantable cardiac devices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance engineering practices and deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline with at least two years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, or comparable tools.
• Experience with monitoring and observability practices using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or comparable tools.
• Strong ownership and initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative communication style focused on improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, operate, and support shared engineering platforms and services.
• Build reusable automation, tools, documentation, and runbooks.
• Implement, test, deploy, and support platform capabilities.
• Contribute to technical design discussions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend improvements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones.
• Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
