Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

As a Platform Engineer, you will be a key part of the Platform Engineering initiative. You will help automate, scale, and stably operate the infrastructure of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to provide a first-class Developer Experience for development teams. You can work either two days a week at the Erkrath headquarters or up to 100% remotely, depending on your place of residence.

Qualifications

• Profound practical knowledge in Public Cloud, preferably Azure
• Proficient in Terraform and Helm
• Experience operating containerized applications on Kubernetes
• Experience with GitLab is an advantage
• Willingness to participate in on-call duty
• Initial experience in networking is ideal
• Good understanding of functional dependencies in distributed systems
• Very good German language skills (C1/C2)
• Good English language skills (B2 or higher)

Responsibilities

• Actively automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform and OpenTofu
• Support cloud architecture management
• Contribute to cloud networking topics
• Implement governance structures
• Participate in on-call duty to ensure stability and performance of core services
• Co-design the observability stack
• Troubleshoot infrastructure-level problems
• Support cloud migration projects on a technical level
