Platform Engineer - Oracle (m/w/d)

Job summary

The role of Database Engineer focuses on the engineering, operation, and enhancement of the Oracle Exadata platform, ensuring the performance, stability, and availability of Oracle databases. Key responsibilities include designing the Oracle landscape, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and advising stakeholders on architecture and performance related to database services.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in engineering and operation of Oracle databases in critical environments
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Exadata, including design, operation, and performance optimization
• Strong expertise in Data Guard, backup and recovery, and database and SQL performance tuning
• High affinity for data and platform technologies with a good understanding of internal stakeholder requirements
• Very good German and good English skills (at least level B2)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering, operation, and development of the Oracle Exadata platform
• Design and engineering of the central Oracle landscape
• Ensure performance, stability, and availability of Oracle databases including backup and recovery concepts
• Develop the database landscape and implement technical lifecycle projects regarding quality, time, and budget
• Advise and support internal stakeholders on architecture, security, performance, and operation of database services
• Perform maintenance outside of office hours and provide on-call support
