Platform Engineer

Job summary

Scrumconnect Consulting is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust cloud platforms that support modern software delivery. The role involves developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automation tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and platform services, collaborating with various teams to create scalable, reliable, and highly available environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins
• Strong understanding of Linux systems administration
• Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog
• Understanding of networking, security, identity management, and cloud governance principles
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Experience working within public sector or regulated environments
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and cloud security frameworks
• Experience implementing platform engineering and self-service developer platforms
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies and modern cloud-native architectures
• Experience with secrets management and identity solutions
• Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, or cloud platforms
• Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation programs

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and platform services
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery
• Automate platform provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operational processes
• Support development teams by providing self-service platform capabilities and tooling
• Implement and maintain containerization and orchestration solutions
• Monitor platform performance, availability, security, and reliability
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and platform-related issues
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design scalable and resilient solutions
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards
• Contribute to platform engineering standards, documentation, and operational procedures
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and deployment processes
