Job summary
The Platform / DevOps Engineer builds and enhances secure, scalable platform capabilities in a large-scale technology environment in Sydney. The role develops CI/CD pipelines and reusable delivery patterns, manages cloud infrastructure with Terraform or CloudFormation, and supports Docker and Kubernetes workloads using Helm and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD. It also includes observability, production troubleshooting, security practices, documentation, and on-call support.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a similar role
- Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Ruby
- Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, and Helm
- Understanding of Kubernetes isolation, quotas, and scalability
- Experience with monitoring and logging technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Australian residency; the role is available only to Australian residents
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments
- Develop reusable platform capabilities, service templates, and standardized engineering patterns
- Create pipeline components, Kubernetes baselines, and observability packages
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Manage and support infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Build and maintain containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
- Develop and manage Helm-based deployments and Kubernetes controls
- Enable self-service engineering through APIs, CLIs, and automated workflows
- Implement GitOps practices using tools such as ArgoCD
- Monitor platform performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Implement monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
- Support development teams with application integration and deployment
- Apply security best practices and document platform configurations and processes
- Participate in production on-call support
