Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Platform DevOps Engineer role is essential for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of the backend platform. Responsibilities include managing AWS environments, building and maintaining deployment pipelines, optimizing PostgreSQL databases, and implementing security best practices. The position requires expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Expert knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Extensive AWS experience.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with PostgreSQL administration.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash and Python).
• Experience managing production systems with high availability requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Manage AWS environments including ECS, EC2, RDS, VPC, CloudFront, Route53, IAM, WAF, S3, Secrets Manager.
• Continuously optimize infrastructure performance and cost.
• Build disaster recovery and backup strategies.
• Design scalable environments for rapid business growth.
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines.
• Automate build, testing and deployment processes.
• Implement blue/green and rolling deployments.
• Monitor application health and resolve production issues.
• Manage application servers, reverse proxies, load balancers, and container orchestration.
• Build centralized monitoring and alerting.
• Manage dashboards using Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch.
• Manage PostgreSQL databases.
• Implement infrastructure security best practices.
• Configure and maintain VPC networking.
• Eliminate repetitive operational work through automation.
• Maintain platform uptime and availability.
