Job summary
The Platform Engineer delivers and supports a Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data platform that provides secure, reliable capabilities for business-critical services. The role includes third-line support, automation and CI/CD using infrastructure as code, and management of platform capacity, performance, resilience, security, monitoring and governance. It also provides technical support to data engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure and project teams.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud engineering
- Experience administering Microsoft Fabric workspaces, lakehouses, warehouses and data pipelines
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Gateway or Oracle GoldenGate
- Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database administration, connectivity and authentication
- Experience with hybrid platforms integrating cloud services and on-premises SQL Server or Oracle environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, service principals and managed identities
- Experience with Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Automation experience with PowerShell, Python and REST APIs
- Enterprise monitoring, performance management and operational support experience
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and share knowledge
Responsibilities
- Deliver and support the Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data platform
- Provide third-line support for business-critical data platform services
- Implement automation, orchestration and CI/CD using infrastructure as code and platform engineering practices
- Manage platform capacity, performance, resilience and security
- Provide platform monitoring, governance and operational support
- Provide technical consultancy and support to data engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure and project teams
