Platform Engineering & Modelling Lead

Job summary

Leads engineering and data modelling for an enterprise data platform that supports analytics, data science and automation. Sets technical direction and oversees Snowflake and AWS environments, including pipelines, transformations, reliability, resilience, disaster recovery and cost management, while developing multidisciplinary engineering teams and guiding technical decisions with stakeholders.

• Extensive hands-on cloud data platform and data engineering experience, preferably with Snowflake and AWS.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, including permanent, offshore and contingent staff.
• Experience with data modelling and transformation, dbt, engineering standards, automated testing, version control and release practices.
• Experience with platform reliability, resilience, incident leadership, disaster recovery, capacity planning and data quality.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and MLOps environments.
• Experience managing cloud consumption costs, vendors and technology partners.
• Ability to communicate complex technical decisions to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
