Job summary
BusinessOptix is seeking a Platform Engineering & Operations Manager to own the underlying platform infrastructure and operations layer, including Azure-hosted infrastructure, reliability, security, and DevOps capabilities. This is a hands-on, mid-tier senior engineering role with high autonomy, acting as second-in-charge to the VP of Technology. The successful candidate will manage the multi-region Azure estate, ensure reliability and security commitments, and support product development and AI initiatives. The role is suitable for someone who thrives in a growth-stage SaaS environment and is looking to build and lead an infrastructure and platform team.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in cloud platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or related production engineering roles, including time in a SaaS environment
- Demonstrated ownership of production Azure environments at scale, including responsibility for SLAs
- Strong working knowledge of Azure IaaS components: Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Storage, VNet, NSG, WAF, and Azure DevOps
- Experience with cost governance, security posture, and related operational capabilities in Azure
- Working familiarity with Azure AI services (Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Assistants API and related)
- Ability to operationalize AI workloads in production
- Hands-on experience supporting .NET application stacks, particularly modern .NET / .NET Core
- Experience with reliability operations: SLA delivery, incident management, observability, post-incident analysis, and disaster recovery
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or comparable ISMS frameworks
- Practical Microsoft 365 administration experience (small estate; not a primary focus of the role)
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Bicep, Terraform, or ARM)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical, non-technical, and senior stakeholder audiences, including external customers
- Ability to balance speed of delivery with engineering quality and operational reliability
- Relevant Azure certifications would be advantageous
- Comfort operating in a startup or growth-stage culture with broad scope and a degree of ambiguity
- Appetite to grow into team leadership over time
Responsibilities
- Own the underlying platform infrastructure and operations layer at BusinessOptix
- Take day-to-day ownership of the multi-region Azure estate, including capacity, cost, performance, and security baselines across production and non-production environments
- Deliver against the platform's published SLAs, including target 99.95% availability with documented RPO/RTO commitments
- Own incident response, observability, monitoring, post-incident reviews, and root cause analysis
- Lead the maintenance, testing, and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery policy
- Execute day-to-day operations of the ISO 27001-aligned ISMS, including internal and external assurance testing
- Support customer security questionnaire responses and the IT Supplier Management Process
- Prepare for audit surveillance and recertification cycles
- Chair the BusinessOptix Cybersecurity Council, owning operations and governance
- Own the Azure DevOps environment in collaboration with the Product Development team, including pipelines, build/release tooling, and deployment automation
- Drive developer enablement for a frictionless build, deploy, and release path
- Partner with the Product Development team to support the migration of customer tenants to the .NET Core Server Apps, including cutover tooling, rollback paths, and validation
- Provide the platform and infrastructure foundation for the AI Engineer (Strategy) to design, build, and run production AI pipelines
- Administer the BusinessOptix Microsoft 365 environment, including user, license, identity, and Intune/MDM management
- Provide pragmatic Tier 2 internal IT support
- Act as custodian of the BusinessOptix Technical Pack and supporting compliance documentation
- Represent the technology function in customer architecture and security conversations
- Communicate technical decisions and risks clearly to non-technical and senior stakeholders
- Mentor future junior technology hires, build runbooks, playbooks, and operational rituals
- Grow into formal line management of an infrastructure and platform team
