Job summary

Leads a platform reliability team supporting large-scale GPU infrastructure, AI FactoryOS, and AI cloud services. The role combines hands-on incident escalation and 24/7 incident command with service-level management, team development, and operational improvement through runbooks, guarded automation, and permanent fixes. It also translates production evidence into engineering requirements and coordinates support readiness across operations and specialist engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on infrastructure operations or site reliability engineering experience with Linux, networking, storage, Kubernetes, or virtualisation.
  • Significant experience leading a 24/7 operations, SRE, or production engineering team in a large-scale hosting, HPC, telecommunications, data centre, or service provider environment.
  • Experience managing on-call rosters and incident response.
  • Working ability in Python, Go, or Bash and infrastructure as code.
  • Working knowledge of SRE practices, including service-level objectives, error budgets, toil reduction, runbook automation, and production readiness.
  • Experience with ITSM, on-call, and observability tools.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, setting performance expectations, and developing engineering teams.
  • Preferred: Major incident command, GPU or AI infrastructure operations, customer-facing service-provider work, contractual response commitments, ISO 27001 or SOC 2 frameworks, establishing operations teams, or leading teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a platform reliability team of 5 to 10 engineers and service delivery staff.
  • Manage 24/7 on-call and incident command rosters across regions.
  • Serve as incident commander for major incidents during rostered weeks.
  • Join complex faults, guide diagnosis and recovery, and review root cause analyses, runbooks, and automation.
  • Manage service-level objectives and report service performance to leadership.
  • Coordinate escalation paths and response commitments with specialist engineering teams.
  • Ensure incident, change, and problem management practices are followed.
  • Drive runbook and automation development to reduce recurring manual response and toil.
  • Prepare new and changed services for production support.
  • Translate incident trends and repeat causes into engineering improvement requirements and track them to completion.
  • Coordinate customer and leadership service-health reporting and attend customer service reviews.
  • Maintain ITSM, on-call, and operational tooling.
