Plattform-Owner & Plattform-Architekt DevOps (m/w/d)

Job summary

The S-Markt & Mehrwert GmbH & Co. KG is seeking a Platform Owner & Platform Architect DevOps to take responsibility for their DevOps platform. This role involves acting as an interface between architecture, operations, and service provider control, ensuring the platform remains stable, secure, and future-proof. The successful candidate will work closely with the DevOps team, internal stakeholders, and external service providers to shape the platform strategy.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in the DevOps environment, ideally with platform responsibility or in an architectural role
• Strong understanding of modern platform technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD, Cloud)
• Knowledge of IT service management (e.g., ITIL) and experience with SLAs and operational processes
• Experience in managing external service providers and dealing with complex stakeholder structures
• Ability to combine technical and organizational topics and make decisions
• High degree of initiative and sense of responsibility
• Clear communication skills and assertiveness
• Structured way of working, even in demanding and dynamic situations

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the DevOps platform
• Act as an interface between architecture, operations, and service provider control
• Ensure the platform remains stable, secure, and future-proof
• Collaborate with the DevOps team, internal stakeholders, and external service providers
• Significantly shape the development of the platform strategy
• Maintain and operate the DevOps platform for all in-house developments or development service providers
• Manage and prioritize operational and maintenance topics throughout the entire lifecycle
• Strategically develop the DevOps platform and define and enforce architectural standards and best practices (e.g., Kubernetes, CI/CD, Security)
• Support the introduction of new platform components
• Centrally manage external operational and development service providers (e.g., data center and development partners)
• Coordinate between internal teams, departments, and external partners
• Support the prioritization of topics balancing operational security and innovation
