Job summary

Internship in Application Security & DevSecOps at Mercedes-Benz, focusing on Cyber-Security and DevSecOps methods while supporting Application-Security development.

Qualifications

• Enrolled student in (Business) Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, IT Security, or a comparable technical field
• Proficient in German and English, both written and spoken
• Basic understanding of modern software development and software architectures
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#)
• Interest in cloud technologies, DevSecOps, or CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar tools is a plus
• Initial exposure to Cyber Security, Secure Coding, or Vulnerability Management is desirable
• Analytical thinking and structured approach to challenges
• Responsibility and ability to work independently
• Eagerness to learn and engage with current technologies
• Strong communication skills and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and development of Application Security Insights (AppSI) for transparency on security risks in applications
• Assist in Shift Left Security initiatives for early integration of security requirements in development processes
• Analyze and prepare metrics and security metrics for management and developer reports
• Support vulnerability assessment and follow-up on improvement measures
• Create training and communication materials to raise awareness among development teams
• Assist in the development of DevSecOps processes and integration of security checks in CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in workshops and coordination with developers, architects, product owners, and security experts
• Contribute to pilot projects for automation of Application-Security processes
