Job summary
RBC is seeking a Principal AI Platform Engineer to join their Data & AI Platform Team, focusing on designing scalable architectures and building production-grade backend services.
Qualifications
- Expert-level backend development experience with Java, Python (Spring Boot, Fast API, multithreading, messaging)
- Proven experience building cost-effective agentic AI solutions and frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven experience building services on public and private cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, OCP.
- Experience architecting solutions leveraging OpenTelemetry, vector and graph databases.
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable architectures for agentic AI applications, distributed services, MCPs, APIs, and data-intensive workloads.
- Build production-grade backend services, orchestration frameworks, and reusable platform components.
- Build resilient event-driven big data processing framework and efficient query layer.
- Engineer effective context layer from structured and unstructured data for agentic AI workloads.
- Own service integrations, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and AI requirements, provide technical solutions.
- Manage deployment and configuration of services, including DR.
