Principal Cloud Architect (m/w/d)

Job summary

Devoteam is seeking a Principal Cloud Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions for enterprise clients. This role involves developing cloud strategies, leading complex cloud architectures, and acting as a technical advisor and mentor for Cloud Architects and Engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or cloud consulting
• Profound experience in designing solutions on Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
• Experience leading enterprise workload migrations in public cloud environments
• Experience implementing DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructures, including compute, storage, networking, and identity management
• Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, ideally GKE
• Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform or similar tools
• Profound understanding of cloud networking, including VPC design, hybrid connectivity, and security controls
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present architectural decisions to technical and business stakeholders
• Fluent in English
• Fluent in German for the Munich position
• Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid architectures
• Practical experience leading large data warehouse and infrastructure migrations from on-premises to cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Design and manage end-to-end migrations and architectures on Google Cloud
• Support and mentor team members
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert and knowledge provider for global Google Cloud practices
• Conduct presentations and communicate directly with clients
• Bridge the gap between client requirements and delivery teams
• Provide technical leadership in presales activities, workshops, and client presentations
• Create detailed architecture documentation and solution designs
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, compliance, availability, and cost optimization
