BMO Financial Group is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer with over 8 years of experience in large scale Azure environments.

Qualifications

• Architect-level expertise in cloud strategies and large-scale Azure solutions
• Expert in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
• Strong DevOps expertise in CI/CD pipeline design
• Expertise in Policy as Code (PaC) strategy
• Experience with container infrastructure design and implementation
• Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js, Java, C#, or C++
• Experience in managing public cloud infrastructure at scale
• Understanding of Azure IAM/RBAC design
• Knowledge of Azure IaaS/SaaS/PaaS services
• Expertise in large scale cloud networking
• General IT engineering knowledge in networking, security, and automation

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture and design
• Define and implement scalable Azure solutions
• Establish architecture patterns and best practices
• Own end-to-end delivery
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Drive solution implementation from concept to production
• Cloud platform engineering and automation
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform
• Build reusable modules and enterprise-scale Azure environments
• Design, implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines
• Drive automation-first culture and continuous improvement
• Implement Azure security best practices
• Define and implement governance and policies framework
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Architect for resilience and monitor workload performance
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical direction
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Collaborate with product owners and leadership
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Drive modernization initiatives
