Job summary
The Principal Cloud Engineer at Scotiabank will design, develop, and maintain cloud platforms and services for enterprise-wide public cloud use, collaborating with engineers and application teams while providing mentorship and leadership.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience with Cloud Managed Development/Services
- 5-10 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- 5-10 years of experience with development languages
- 5-10 years of experience with container-based technologies
- 5-10 years of experience with CI/CD Tools
- 5-10 years of experience with config management tools and scripting languages
Responsibilities
- Champion a customer focused culture
- Design, develop and maintain cloud platforms and services
- Take ownership of a component of a larger product
- Design, implement, and refactor code
- Ensure software meets high availability, integrity, reliability, security, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with engineers and architects on tasks
- Assist application teams with onboarding onto the Platform
- Participate in planning and retrospective sessions
- Provide mentorship and code review
- Lead a product/service and define functions for cloud platforms
