Job summary

The Principal Engineer - Cloud & DevOps role is responsible for leading the delivery of Azure platform and automation initiatives, ensuring the implementation of secure and scalable solutions. Key responsibilities include developing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, managing AKS environments, and providing architectural guidance while mentoring engineers to enhance team capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of Azure platform and automation initiatives
• Design, document and implement secure, scalable and reliable Azure solutions
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, supported by robust CI/CD pipelines
• Provision and manage AKS environments, including application deployment, microservices configuration and Helm chart management
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing architecture and design guidance across multiple engagements
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders and executives
• Produce high-quality engineering artefacts including solution designs, runbooks, governance documentation and change records
• Partner with delivery leaders on estimation, planning and risk management
• Mentor engineers, support onboarding, contribute to hiring activities and help uplift engineering capability across the team
