The Principal Technical Engineer focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. This role includes providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving best practices in cloud infrastructure, particularly with cloud-native technologies on major cloud service providers like AWS.

Qualifications

  • People management experience and team building skills.
  • Passion for people management and mentorship.
  • Hands-on experience in software development methodologies and Agile delivery.
  • Proven experience with Cloud Native technologies on major cloud service providers.
  • Experience designing and delivering production cloud solutions at scale.
  • Preferably hold CKA, CKAD, and CKS qualifications.
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Drive innovation and best practices in cloud infrastructure design.
  • Develop a team of Agile delivery leads and cloud engineers.
  • Ensure software engineering standards and modern SDLC practices are maintained.
  • Act as a technical authority for Kubernetes.
  • Understand security, risk, and compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams.
  • Provide solutions on Cloud budget management and optimization.
  • Manage the backlog of delivery for the Kubernetes container team.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing processes and tools.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
