Job summary

The Principal Platform Engineer will provide technical leadership in shaping and scaling clients' cloud platforms, focusing on establishing robust platform capabilities and self-service solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating internal developer platforms at scale.
• Ability to build reusable platform services and self-service capabilities.
• Knowledge of platform-as-a-product principles to improve developer experience.
• Experience in designing highly available and resilient cloud-native architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated cloud provisioning.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and automated software delivery.
• Experience in designing platforms for resilience and operational excellence.
• Ability to provide technical leadership across engineering teams.
• Experience in mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for an AWS cloud platform.
• Design and build scalable, secure, resilient, and reusable platform capabilities.
• Develop self-service tooling and services to improve developer productivity.
• Drive automation across infrastructure, application delivery, and platform management.
• Establish and promote platform standards and best practices.
• Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency of the platform.
• Identify opportunities to reduce engineering friction and accelerate software delivery.
• Establish engineering principles that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining security and reliability.
• Lead complex platform initiatives from design through implementation.
• Influence teams on platform strategy and architectural decisions.
• Mentor and develop engineers, promoting strong platform engineering practices.
• Champion a culture of automation and continuous improvement.
