Job summary

The Principal Site Reliability Engineer focuses on enhancing the reliability and operational health of production services through software and systems engineering practices. Qualifications

• Typically 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience with modern programming languages for software development or scripting.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with public cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Use software engineering, automation, and DevOps principles to improve service development and operations.
• Identify reliability risks and guide technical decisions using data and engineering analysis.
• Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, and service-health measures.
• Enhance observability through metrics, logging, and monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD, automation, and operational readiness.
• Translate operational experience into improvements in code and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to ensure reliability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Lead incident response and post-incident learning.
• Provide technical leadership for critical production incidents.
• Reduce operational toil through automation and better engineering practices.
