Principal Solution Engineer-SRE

Job summary

Leads Site Reliability Engineering and production support for critical card and payment applications, ensuring availability, resilience, performance, and stability. The role covers card issuance, authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation, with responsibilities spanning incident response, root-cause analysis, testing and releases, observability, automation, and HA/DR. Relevant technologies include Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, WebLogic or WebSphere, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, and Python or Shell.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in production or application support, SRE, or infrastructure support for card payment technology environments.
• Strong knowledge of credit and debit card systems, including issuance, authorization, clearing, settlement, card controls, and reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, observability, resilience, performance, capacity, and automation.
• Hands-on experience with production support, incident and problem management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of APIs, middleware, databases, operating systems, networking, and infrastructure.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with WebLogic or WebSphere and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of Python or Shell scripting, CI/CD, DevOps, high availability and disaster recovery, and automation.
• Experience with functional specifications, system flows, impact analysis, dependency assessment, system integration, testing, and production readiness.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, security, compliance, RTO/RPO, performance, and capacity management.
• Experience collaborating with business teams, technology teams, and external vendors.
• Agile, Jira, and Confluence experience.
• Cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps, SRE, or ITIL certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Drive SRE practices for critical card and payment applications to improve availability, resilience, performance, and stability.
• Provide functional and technical support for card management, card controls, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and related integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues across application, API, middleware, database, operating system, network, and infrastructure layers.
• Lead root-cause analysis for critical incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with internal technology teams and vendors on solution design, delivery, and issue resolution.
• Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, releases, patching, and upgrades.
• Strengthen monitoring, alerting, observability, automation, and self-healing capabilities.
• Support high availability and disaster recovery, performance and capacity management, and production-readiness assessments.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and PCI DSS requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
