Python Platform Engineer

Job summary

Seeking a skilled Python Platform Engineer to enhance the enterprise knowledge base platform by architecting backend services and improving ingestion pipelines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing in Python within platform or infrastructure-heavy environments
• Experience building CLI tools using Python, Golang, or Rust
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, pgvector, and modern RAG/retrieval pipelines
• Knowledge of evaluation frameworks for LLM-backed systems
• Experience with Docker, Helm, GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes
• Understanding of operational characteristics and scaling bottlenecks of embedding pipelines
• Observability skills spanning metrics, tracing, alerting, and log analysis
• Experience managing ingestion, ETL, or large-scale content processing pipelines

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement backend services using Python 3.11, FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy async, and asyncpg
• Design retrieval trade-offs optimizing for quality, latency, operational cost, safety, and simplicity
• Build production-grade agent runtime capabilities including memory boundaries and tool sandboxing
• Improve answer grounding, failure analysis, and citation enforcement
• Create observability and feedback loops utilizing OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Docker, Helm, and GitHub Actions
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to support multiple conversational surfaces
• Overhaul ingestion pipelines and manage AI workload profiles
