Release Engineer/ Release Management

Job summary

Lead end-to-end release management across complex, large-scale Salesforce environments, maintaining release quality, governance, compliance, and operational stability. Coordinate planning, deployment, change approvals, CI/CD pipelines, environment readiness, rollback planning, and production hypercare across SIT, UAT, pre-production, and production environments. Partner with development, testing, DevOps, platform, security, operations, and business teams to deliver releases and improve release processes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Release Manager, Environment Manager, Deployment Manager, or in a similar enterprise delivery role.
• Experience managing complex Salesforce releases, including Salesforce Core, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Commerce Cloud.
• Understanding of release management frameworks, governance controls, and change management processes.
• Experience with GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or Git for version control and source code management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices, release automation, deployment pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with Salesforce deployment tooling, including SFDX and sandbox-based deployments.
• Experience coordinating change requests, CAB approvals, and enterprise change governance.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding of release gating, rollback planning, environment promotions, and deployment controls.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases in fast-paced enterprise environments.
• Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud or enterprise digital transformation programs is preferred.
• Experience with Terraform, infrastructure automation, and environment provisioning is preferred.
• Experience with Jenkins and advanced CI/CD pipeline orchestration is preferred.
• ITIL certification or experience in mature IT Service Management environments is preferred.
• Experience in government, regulated, or highly secure enterprise environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end releases across SIT, UAT, pre-production, and production environments.
• Coordinate release planning, scheduling, deployments, and post-release support.
• Control release scope, code freezes, deployment gates, and readiness reviews.
• Facilitate Go/No-Go meetings and report release status to stakeholders.
• Maintain release artefacts, deployment documentation, implementation plans, and release calendars.
• Coordinate change requests, CAB approvals, and release governance.
• Coordinate delivery across development, testing, DevOps, platform, operations, and security teams.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, version control, and release promotions.
• Coordinate release validation, rollback plans, risk mitigation, and environment readiness.
• Manage release risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations across delivery streams.
• Coordinate hypercare and production support during critical release windows.
• Improve release processes, tooling, and governance frameworks.
