Salesforce Devops Lead

Job summary

The Salesforce DevOps Lead provides technical leadership to build and scale a centralized, secure, and reliable Salesforce platform. The role leads CI/CD automation, release management, custom developer tooling, sandbox and environment operations, and platform monitoring and compliance, using technologies such as Apex, Salesforce DX, Git-based pipelines, and Copado to help teams deliver and validate changes efficiently.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of software development experience, including scripting with Python, Bash, or Node.js.
• At least 5 years of Salesforce-focused DevOps experience in platform engineering, CI/CD automation, and release management.
• Strong experience leading engineering teams, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and coordinating multi-project work.
• Ability to work independently and turn broad goals into actionable projects.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce security and compliance for configuration, integrations, and certificates.
• Hands-on Salesforce development and configuration experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Metadata API, Salesforce CLI or Salesforce DX, SOQL, and APIs.
• Experience building Salesforce CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Copado, Gearset, or Jenkins.
• Expertise in Salesforce environment management, sandbox refresh strategies, data masking, and scratch org orchestration.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging tools such as Splunk.
• Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative branching strategies.
• Understanding of the software application lifecycle, system design, integration, risk assessment, and technical analysis.
• Experience working in Agile product teams using Scrum or Kanban.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and align concurrent Salesforce projects and engineering initiatives.
• Mentor developers on Salesforce practices, design patterns, and quality standards.
• Build and optimize CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines across Salesforce environments.
• Establish deployment guardrails, quality gates, and automated release strategies.
• Create developer tooling, automation scripts, and utilities.
• Manage sandbox provisioning, refreshes, backups, and capacity monitoring.
• Define environment strategies and integration patterns for multi-sandbox systems.
• Automate sandbox data provisioning, data mocking, and test execution optimization.
• Implement platform monitoring, error alerts, and system health tracking.
• Oversee compliance, security credential lifecycles, and data management and retention.
• Maintain and update platform and release tools, including Copado.
