Senior AI/ML Platform Engineer, GovCloud

Job summary

Med*** is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead the migration of their AI platform to AWS GovCloud, architecting and developing AI products while ensuring compliance and performance standards.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required due to compliance restrictions for AWS GovCloud environments.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development in production environments using Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes (K8s); familiarity with K8s-based deployment frameworks in regulated environments.
• Experience with distributed systems: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
• Experience with Relational SQL including Postgres.
• Experience with code quality best practices and testing architectures on large codebases.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of AI/ML platform services to AWS GovCloud, ensuring compliance, security, and performance standards.
• Design and implement cloud-native ML infrastructure on AWS, including SageMaker, ECS, EKS, and Lambda.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize deployed models and ML pipelines in GovCloud environments.
• Build and maintain secure data pipelines across national boundaries, adhering to FedRAMP requirements.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to build innovative features for Customer Experience.
• Architect scalable solutions for large-scale data processing with high performance.
• Design and implement APIs for front-end applications.
• Identify process improvements: automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, redesign infrastructure for scalability.
• Participate in on-call rotation to maintain availability and reliability of internal platforms and customer-facing systems.
