Job summary

Designs, develops, and maintains production automation solutions while evolving automation capabilities and supporting the transition from AWX to Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). The role administers AWX and AAP, applies Configuration as Code with Git-based review and controlled promotion, and integrates automation with ServiceNow and DigiCert certificate lifecycle processes using Ansible and Python.

• Senior-level experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Ansible and AWX automation in production.
• Advanced experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (RHAAP/AAP).
• Strong knowledge of playbooks, roles, collections, inventories, variables, handlers, dependencies, and reusable structures.
• Experience administering AWX, including RBAC, job templates, workflows, schedules, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience creating or adapting Execution Environments and managing dependencies and collections.
• Advanced Python programming skills for maintainable tools, modules, integrations, and automation.
• Advanced Git experience, including branching, merge requests, code reviews, conflict resolution, tagging, and change traceability.
• Ability to implement Git workflows for Configuration as Code and controlled promotion across environments.
• Strong Linux knowledge and Bash scripting experience.
• Experience testing, documenting, and supporting production automation.
• Ability to analyse complex incidents, work autonomously, and exercise senior-level technical judgment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with platform, ServiceNow, security, and process-owner teams.
• Willingness to share knowledge and support client-team autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Manage the automation backlog by analysing requests, gathering requirements, supporting prioritization, and tracking progress.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Ansible and Python automation solutions for production.
• Apply Configuration as Code practices, including repository management, peer review, traceability, and controlled promotion.
• Administer and troubleshoot AWX organisations, projects, inventories, credentials, permissions, RBAC, jobs, workflows, and schedules.
• Create and maintain Execution Environments, including images, dependencies, and collections.
• Review existing Ansible content and support its migration to RHAAP/AAP.
• Support RHAAP/AAP configuration, operations, lifecycle management, and migration validation.
• Prepare automation for ServiceNow triggers and collaborate on integration design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Support automation of DigiCert certificate issuance, renewal, deployment, and monitoring.
• Resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Produce technical documentation, operating procedures, and supporting evidence.
• Transfer knowledge to client teams and report on progress, deliveries, KPIs, incidents, and risks.
