Job summary
The Senior AVEVA System Platform Engineer designs and delivers industrial automation and SCADA solutions, supporting projects from requirements gathering and system configuration through testing, commissioning, and ongoing support. The role develops InTouch applications and ArchestrA objects, integrates PLC, HMI, historian, MES, and SQL systems, and produces engineering documentation. It also includes troubleshooting, customer collaboration, and technical support across industrial automation, manufacturing, and process control projects.

Qualifications
- Experience developing and implementing AVEVA System Platform solutions in industrial automation, manufacturing, or process control.
- Practical knowledge of AVEVA System Platform, ArchestrA, and InTouch.
- Experience with industrial control systems, SCADA, HMI, PLCs, databases, and system integration.
- Understanding of industrial communications protocols such as OPC, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with scripting, SQL databases, and troubleshooting automation software and communications networks.
- Experience participating in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site-based project activities.
- Ability to interpret control philosophies, P&IDs, functional specifications, and electrical or instrumentation documentation.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to follow safe working practices and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and configure AVEVA System Platform solutions for industrial automation projects.
- Develop and maintain InTouch applications, ArchestrA objects, graphics, templates, scripts, and system configurations.
- Translate customer requirements, functional specifications, and process information into control system solutions.
- Integrate AVEVA System Platform with PLC, SCADA, HMI, historian, MES, SQL, and other industrial systems.
- Configure communications and data interfaces using industrial protocols and technologies.
- Prepare functional design specifications, software documentation, test plans, system manuals, and project records.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, customers, and third-party suppliers.
- Participate in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and customer handover.
- Investigate and resolve software, database, communications, and system integration issues.
- Provide technical support, upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement for existing installations.
- Support estimation, technical proposals, project planning, and standardized automation solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues and share engineering knowledge.
