Job summary
Designs, automates, modernizes, and operates secure, scalable, cost-effective AWS environments for mission-critical workloads in regulated and hybrid-cloud settings. Leads legacy application migrations, builds Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices, and strengthens platform security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. The role also mentors engineers and applies approved generative AI tools to improve engineering workflows.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in cloud, DevOps, platform, systems administration, infrastructure automation, or related technical roles.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, containerization, and infrastructure operations.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, securing, and operating production workloads in AWS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, scripting, Linux administration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, or Helm.
- Experience in regulated, compliance-driven, or security-sensitive environments, including FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST-based controls, or comparable frameworks.
- Experience applying FinOps practices to cloud cost visibility and optimization.
- Ability to mentor engineers, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and communicate technical recommendations.
- Must hold an active AWS Professional-level certification at hire or obtain one within six months of hire.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Responsibilities
- Lead migration and modernization of legacy applications and infrastructure to AWS.
- Design, deploy, and operate AWS environments for development, test, staging, and production workloads.
- Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, templates, and deployment patterns.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, security scanning, deployment, and rollback.
- Establish security guardrails for identity, secrets, encryption, logging, auditing, and least-privilege access.
- Support compliance evidence collection, control mapping, and remediation in collaboration with cybersecurity teams and auditors.
- Improve operational reliability through monitoring, incident response, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Apply FinOps practices to improve cost visibility, accountability, and cloud resource optimization.
- Mentor engineers and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operating procedures, and platform standards.
