Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer is tasked with designing, building, and automating the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to enhance technology modernization efforts. This role involves establishing Azure Landing Zones, developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform, and managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments, all while ensuring compliance with security and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting production Microsoft Azure environments
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with containerized platforms and Azure Kubernetes Service
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise monitoring solutions
• Proficiency in automation and scripting with PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Bash
• Knowledge of Azure networking services
• Understanding of cloud security principles and frameworks
• Experience in regulated environments

Responsibilities

• Design, build, implement, and support enterprise-class Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services
• Establish, maintain, and enhance Azure Landing Zones
• Develop and maintain reusable cloud platform architectures
• Engineer scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions
• Support modernization and migration of on-premises applications
• Build and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines
• Automate provisioning and operational processes
• Design and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
• Implement Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC
• Design enterprise monitoring and observability solutions
• Collaborate with teams to embed security and governance
• Participate in incident response and continuous improvement
• Establish cloud governance standards and cost management
• Develop technical documentation and operational runbooks
• Evaluate emerging Azure technologies and provide recommendations
• Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor
• Participate in after-hours support and maintenance activities
